Sony says PS4 game prices on PSN may change

Sony has confirmed that prices for PlayStation 4 titles via the PlayStation Store have not been finalized.

This week the electronics giant has received criticism for its pricing on some titles, with games such as Battlefield 4 coming in £5 higher than its Xbox One counterpart — and that was after EA slashed the price by £3.

However, speaking to EuroGamer, Sony revealed that its prices may be reduced for the PS4’s U.K. and European launch this Friday.

"Although PS4 launches in Europe on the 29th November, we have switched on the European PSN early to test and make sure that features and functionality are fully operational for launch," said the firm.

"However, as PS4 and PSN have not yet officially launched in this region, nothing on the PSN is final, including pricing on the store. You will continue to see some prices adjusted over the next few days in preparation for launch on Friday."

Sony will be hosting a PS4 launch event at London’s Covent Garden this Thursday night, where the company will also be offering consumers a chance to purchase the new console without having secured a pre-order.
