Sony has today confirmed that it’s set to increase the amount of money it costs to subscribe to its ‘PlayStation Plus’ service in Europe following reports that users were receiving emails from the company notifying them of the changes.
Citing shifts in the market as the cause for the price hike, Sony will increase the monthly and quarterly fees for the service whilst the annual pricing of €49.99 will thankfully remain the same.
Beginning on September 1, a three-month subscription which previously cost €14.99 will now set you back €19.99.
It’s unclear as to whether or not the surge in pricing will hit North America, too, but we’d hazard a guess and say it’ll happen sooner rather than later.
