Sony Unlikely To Sell PS5 In Stores For Remainder Of 2020 – Report

It’s looking increasingly likely that the PS5 will not be sold at brick-and-mortar retailers for the remainder of 2020, according to a number of mounting reports. The console will obviously be hard enough to get hold of as it is, but if you do, it’ll only be available online.

PS5 Won’t Be Available In Stores During 2020

First up, Best Buy in the US has revealed that it will not be offering Sony and Microsoft’s new home consoles in-store. Not only that, but according to a report on Gamer.no, which is a Norwegian website, Sony is putting pressure on retailers in the country not to sell or stock PS5s in-stores.

Obviously, given how console launches typically result in a huge rush of people at stores, Sony doesn’t want this happening during the midst of the coronavirus pandemic.

The PS5 is due for release in the US and Japan on November 12 and in the UK and Europe on November 19.
