Remember Sony’s offer of a free PS5 game for new console owners in the US? Well, the format holder has updated its terms to clarify that this offer is now only invitation only.
Sony announced the promotion last month, at which time it revealed the offer is “valid only in the U.S. for eligible PSN account holders who are at least 18 years of age and purchase and activate a new PS5 conservative by October 20, 2023.
However, it has now come to people’s attention on social media that Sony has tweaked the terms so that they now read the offer is “by invitation only,” so not everyone will be able to take advantage of the offer. In case you missed the offer, the following games are available:

- Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered
- God of War Ragnarok
- Horizon Forbidden West
- Ghost of Tsushima Director’s Cut
- Ratchet & Clank Rift Apart
- Demon’s Souls
- The Last of Us Part I
- SackBoy: A Big Adventure
- Returnal
- Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection
- Death Stranding: Director’s Cut
This year has been a major step in the right direction for the PS5, as it marks the end of the long-running console shortage that plagued Sony’s latest hardware since launch. Since the beginning of the year, the PS5 is now pretty much readily available in stores and online outlets around the world, and sales are on the up.
