UPDATE 1 – 5pm BST – PlayStation Online Support are reporting that there are “minor PlayStation Network works this evening”. This will take plave between 12pm ET and 6pm ET (5pm BST and 11pm BST).
"These works won’t affect the majority of users online although some of you may experience errors/timeouts while purchasing products, updating account information, PS Plus validation and wallet topups. However, any such attempts should be successful if attempted again after waiting a few seconds."
ORIGINAL STORY
“The PSN is down,” is becoming a rather familiar headline over the past couple of months on PSU, but don’t panic, most of you should still be online today.
However, we are getting a number of reports that some of the features on PSN aren’t available right now. While some users are saying they’ve been kicked out of online-only games, such as Destiny, others report that the PlayStation Store is “under maintenance”. We don’t believe this to be a widespread issue right now, but we’ll let you know if it escalates.
All the reports we’ve received so far are from users based in the United States. The European Store and European game access appears to be fine, and many users in the U.S. are reporting no issues whatsoever.
