Square Enix has snatched up the publishing rights for True Crimes: Hong Kong, which was axed earlier this year by then-publisher Activision.
The game will remain in production at United Front Games, the Vancouver-based developer behind Modnation Racers, and will be overseen by Square Enix London Studios.
Speaking with Gamasutra, SE London Studios general manager Lee Singleton said "When we first saw and got our hands on the game we fell in love with it,"
While the True Crime IP was not picked up by Square Enix, Singleton went on to state that it is ”too early to say what the name will be," adding that the SE branding team is hard at work on concepts.
Although the game was originally set to be released November 2011 on PC, Xbox 360, and PlayStation 3, Singleton was tight-lipped on a new release schedule or platform, stating "We’re not talking about release timings or formats at this time."
Stay tuned.
