Yoichi Wada, CEO of Square Enix, has revealed that the Japanese giant plans on “exploring” the possibility of remaking the PSone RPG classic, Final Fantasy VII.
Speaking with the chaps at Siliconera, Wada commented, “Right now we don’t have a clear direction, but many fans have requested we remake Final Fantasy VII.”
“We’re going to explore the possibility – whether or not we’re going to do it, if we’re going to do it, and the platform.”
Talk on a FFVII remake has surfaced on and off for years now, most recently with FFXIII director Motomu Toriyama declaring that the 1997 classic is the title he would most like to remake.
