Actor John de Lancie will feature in Airtight Games’ upcoming Quantum Conundrum, Square Enix has confirmed today.
Sci-fi fanatics will no doubt recognise de Lancie for his recurring role in Star Trek: The Next Generation, where he portrayed the character of Q.
In Quantum Conundrum, de Lancie will lend his voice to the character of Professor Fitz Quadwrangle, an eccentric inventor and uncle to the game’s protagonist.
Unfortunately, Quadwrangle finds himself lost in another dimension, and must guide his nephew through his sprawling, hazard-filled abode so players can locate the missing Professor.
Said de Lancie: “The professor’s character is funny, a bit bizarre, and a great joy to perform.”
“If players have half as much fun with the game as I did playing the character, then they’ll be having a great time.”
Quantum Conundrum is the brainchild of Portal co-creator Kim Swift, and is scheduled for release in summer 2012 for PlayStation Network, PC and Xbox Live Arcade.
