Star Wars Battlefront 2 update: New playable character announced

Electronic Arts and DICE have announced that Darth Vader will be a playable villain in the upcoming Star Wars Battlefront 2.

The news comes following confirmation that the ongoing Star Wars Battlefront 2 beta has been extended until tomorrow.

The iconic Star Wars villain and father to Luke Skywalker is fully playable in the sequel, where he’ll be able to unleash his devastating Force powers upon his victims.

Darth Vader has the ability to become even stronger during battle by harnessing his fury, thus increasing his power and durability.

The iconic baddie has the ability to throw his lightsaber long distances, meaning he’s just as deadly at long range as he is in close proximity. Vader also wields his trademark Force Choke, allowing him to grab his opponents and weaken them before dropping them to the ground.

The Sith Lord can also be customised using Star Cards, allowing players to tweak him to suit their play style. Of course, Vader was already a playable villain in the previous Star Wars Battlefront title, so his inclusion here should come as a welcome, yet unsurprising revelation.

Gleaming helm, sweeping cape, glowing red lightsaber: Darth Vader’s imposing presence is so purely menacing that few dare stand before him. In Star Wars Battlefront II, you will wield the full arsenal of Lord Vader’s vast powers against the enemies of order,” reads the PlayStation Blog post.
