Star Wars Battlefront trailer proves why it’s one of PS4’s best-looking games

Sony debuted a brand new Star Wars Battlefront trailer during its press conference at Paris Games Week yesterday evening, once again showcasing just why DICE’s upcoming shooter is among the most visually impressive PlayStation 4 games to date.

The video, which we’ve included below, features a voiceover by Emperor Palpatine and includes footage from numerous game modes, as well as a duel between Darth Vader and Han Solo and a glimpse at Princess Leia. Towards the end of the trailer, Luke Skywalker comes face-to-face with the Dark Lord of the Sith himself, and begins to duel Palpatine before the action cuts out.

Star Wars Battlefront’s recent beta proved a massive success for publisher Electronic Arts, attracting over 9.5 million gamers and logging an eye-watering 1.6 billion minutes of play time. The full game is scheduled to ship for PS4, PC, and Xbox One in the U.S. on November 17 and in Europe on November 20, putting it in close proximity to the launch of the highly anticipated Star Wars: The Force Awakens this December. Powered by the Frostbite Engine 3.0, Battlefront eschews a traditional single-player campaign in favour of a comprehensive multiplayer offering, featuring a host of iconic Star Wars locations and characters.

Gamers will be able to take part in huge battles for up to 40 players, taking part as either the Rebels or Empire forces in an effort to either liberate or control the galaxy, respectively. Whether it’s taking down massive walkers on Hoth or securing drop zones on Sullust, Battlefront features an authentic Star Wars experience, capturing the sights and sounds of this legendary franchise right down to the glowing clash of lightsabers in the midst of battle. As well regular troopers, players will also get to step into the shoes of numerous Hero or Villain characters, such as Luke Skywalker, Darth Vader, Han Solo, and Emperor Palpatine. Read up on the latest game modes here.
