Star Wars: Fate Of The Old Republic Team Hires Ex-Ubisoft Dev As Its Studio Art Director

Pascal Blanché , a former Ubisoft developer who has worked on Splinter Cell: Conviction and Myst IV, has revealed that they have joined Star Wars: Fate of the Old Republic developer Arcanaut Studios as its studio art director.

Here’s what Blanché had to say in a post on BlueSky:

Super excited to announce that I started a new position as Studio Art Director at ArcanautStudios, where I joined forces with Casey Hudson and his amazing team to work on the next epic Star Wars: Fate of the Old Republic!

Star Wars: Fate of the Old Republic was announced during The Game Awards 2025 last December, and is being helmed by Casey Hudson, a veteran game developer best known for their work on the original Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic and the Mass Effect franchise.

Following its reveal, Hudson addressed speculation that the highly anticipated sci-fi epic wouldn’t be seeing the light of day until around 2030, stating this isn’t the case. Having said that, the fact the team are still hiring on the project means it’s still some way off.

Star Wars: Fate of the Old Republic is billed as a single-player narrative-focussed action-RPG, and the spiritual successor to the original Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic. The team are promising to deliver “an epic interactive adventure across a galaxy on the brink of rebirth, where every decision shapes your path towards light or darkness.”
