According to a report on the Star Wars Jedi Survivor subreddit, physical copies of the highly anticipated sci-fi sequel will require a download in order to play.
The post seemingly reveals boxed copies of Star Wars Jedi Survivor on PS5 and Xbox Series X/S, and follows on reports that the download size for the digital version clocks in at around 150GB, which is larger than standard and dual-layer Blu-ray discs used by PS5 and Xbox Series X/S.
Interestingly, the Xbox Series S version of the game is listed as 44GB, which means that the extra 100GB or so likely pertains to the 4K resolution images that the PS5 and Xbox Series X/S versions utilise. Even so, we don’t actually know how much the download of the physical version will take up.
Star Wars Jedi Survivor is scheduled for release on PS5, PC, and Xbox Series X/S on April 28, 2023. Respawn admitted recently that Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order nearly didn’t become a Jedi game due to LucasFilm’s reluctance to allow the term to be used in a game.
