The CEO of Saber Interactive has assured fans that the Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic Remake is ‘alive and well,’ following the company’s split from Embracer Group.
Speaking with IGN, Matthew Karch revealed that the highly anticipated project is still in active development, with Saber bringing the remake with it after breaking from Embracer.
It’s clear and it’s obivous that we’re working on this. It’s been in the press numerous times. What I will say is that the game is alive and well, and we’re dedicated to making sure we exceed consumer expectations.

Bloomberg’s Jason Schreier previously revealed that Saber was taking Knights of the Old Republic with it following its sale at Embracer’s hands, although Lars Wingefors, the CEO of Embracer Group, had previously indicated that the game was still some way off
Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic was originally announced back in 2021 and was in development at Aspyr Media before shifting to Saber Interactive. The game is set to launch on PS5 and PC, with a release date yet to be confirmed.
