Star Wars Strategy Game From Bit Reactor & Respawn Is Using Unreal Engine 5, Suggests Job Listing

A job listing posted by Bit Reactor has indicated that the upcoming Star Wars strategy game the studio is working on in partnership with Respawn will utilise the Unreal Engine 5.

According to the opening, which is a for a Senior Lighting Artist, the job involves “lighting various levels and cinematic using Lumen for Unreal Engine 5.” In addition, it mentions “experience working within Unreal Engine 4+” as an advantage that the successful candidate can bring to the role.

Beyond that, it mentions “experience working on a AAA title, especially a console title” indicating the game is coming to consoles too, although it was presumed this would be the case.

News broke earlier this month that EA had cancelled Resapwn’s single-player Star Wars game, but Bit Reactor was quick to clarify that its strategy title based on the popular IP was not impacted by the decision.
