Stardew Valley publisher Chucklefish plans to allow players to marry their friends in an upcoming multiplayer update for the popular farming sim.
"A lot of players have requested player-to-player marriage," Chucklefish wrote in a new update on the blog. "It’s an idea we like a lot, and want to make available as a feature. Player-to-player marriage won’t use the mermaid pendant, but rather an alternative method that requires a similar amount of effort to wooing an NPC. We’re still working out what that will be."

In Stardew Valley multiplayer, up to four players can work together on the farm. When the game begins each player will have a cabin on the farm, and they’ll each be able to partake in all Stardew Valley activities, such as mining, fishing and attending events.
The multiplayer will initially roll out to STEAM players only. A beta test will begin before the end of the year with a planned release in 2018. Stardew Valley update 1.3 will also roll out on consoles later that year.
