Bethesda has released Starfield update 1.000.003 to address the reported crash issues for the sci-fi RPG, although there’s a catch — this patch only irons out the problems on PS5 Pro, not the base console.
“Today we’re pushing live a quick hotfix for @StarfieldGame players on PlayStation 5 Pro that resolves crashing when using Enhanced settings,” the studio wrote in a post on X. “The team is preparing an additional hotfix for other PlayStation 5 crashes and freezes, targeting next week. Thank you to everyone who has reached out to our support team, it’s been incredibly helpful.“
Starfield launched for Sony’s current-generation system on April 7, but it didn’t take long for early adopters to report a number of issues with the title, including crashing and save bugs. Bethesda acknowledged the problems earlier this week and stated it aims to remedy the bugs in an update this week, although at the time it wasn’t specified they would only address the issues for PS5 Pro users.
