Stellar Blade is a character action game, so it’s likely that most of the people who bought it did so because they thought it looked like a cool character action game.
That’s at least part of the equation, but undeniably – especially because it was a huge part of the discourse surrounding the game – there’s also likely a lot of people who bought it because of the main character and the skimpy outfits she can fight in.
Visual eye candy is as good of a reason as any for buying a game, but similarly to games like Hades, there’s a sticky layer to Stellar Blade’s visual eye candy that has followed the game from the start, and Shift Up has always been aware of it.
Unlike Hades though, you can spin the camera around to get a…lewd(?) angle of Stellar Blade’s protagonist, Eve. Particularly when her new Nier Automata outfit is equipped. But if you choose to do that, Eve gives the camera/player a swift kick to the nose.
SweetyGonzalez on Reddit pointed out this new feature in a short video where YouTuber FazFaz looks up Eve’s skirt, and gets kicked, repeatedly.
The update with this particular outfit was just made available today, so it definitely says something about Stellar Blade’s player base that this feature was discovered so quickly.
