If you had any concern that Street Fighter (2026) would be another in a long list of underwhelming video game movies, then you should probably watch the latest trailer, as it’s possibly everything a fan could have asked for. There’s no attempt at gritty realism here; Street Fighter is a video game movie, from its use of iconic costumes, character moves, over-the-top battle scenes, and everything in between. Ryu even does an Hadouken!
We see a lot of characters strutting their stuff in the trailer, including Ryu and Ken scrapping in an apartment (Ken isn’t happy to see his old mate), Vega being thrown through a brick wall after taking a blow from Guile, and M. Bison looking suitably evil. We’re also given a glimpse at Blanka, who let’s say looks a bit more convincing here than the 1994 Street Fighter movie.

Helmed by director Kitao Sakurai, Street Fighter is set to bring the battle from the arcade to the big screen with Hadoukens, roundhouses, and all your favorite characters.
