Street Fighter V on PS4 is like a ‘homecoming’ for Sony’s Adam Boyes

Capcom’s announcement that Street Fighter V will be a PlayStation 4 console exclusive is obviously a massive deal for Sony, but for the company’s Adam Boyes, the chance to snap up the hotly anticipated beat-’em-up carries a little personal satisfaction to boot.

Speaking on GameTrailers’ latest Bonus Round, Boyes, who serves as Vice President of Developer and Publisher Relations at SCEA, revealed that prior to joining Sony he worked at Capcom and had a hand in working on Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix.

Specifically, Boyes worked on repainting sprites for the retro-fused brawler in his role as Capcom USA’s Director of Production. As such, he explained that Street Fighter V arriving on PS4 represents something of a ‘homecoming’ for him.

Street Fighter V was formally announced at the PlayStation Experience earlier this month, and will be released for PS4 and PC in 2015.
