Sony has released a dazzling new batch of Gran Turismo Sport gameplay footage from the Tokyo Game Show 2017.

This latest footage of the upcoming racing simulation title features a look at the Japanese Suzuka circuit, and showcases the game’s sumptuous visuals, which will surely go down as one of the best-looking PlayStation 4 games to date.

Gran Turismo Sport release date set

Gran Turismo Sport is scheduled for release in the U.S. on October 17 and in Europe on October 18, exclusively for the PS4. The game is the first instalment in the venerable racing franchise since 2013’s Gran Turismo 6 on the PS3, and is seen as something of a new era for the series, eschewing the traditional number in the title.

Despite this, GT Sport is still a full-fledged entry into the series, featuring a three game modes: Campaign, Sports Mode, and Arcade Mode, and features both offline and online racing.

Unlike its predecessors, the game will not feature dynamic weather or a day/night cycle, though players will still be able to modify the time of day before starting a race. GT Sport’s vehicle roster is pretty extensive to boot, featuring 177 cars and 27 different configurations, plus 19 tracks to enjoy.

One of the biggest new inclusions in GT Sport is the introduction of Porsche cars for the first time in the franchise, after publisher Electronic Arts lost exclusive rights to the brand.

Sony will be releasing a GT Sport PS4 bundle alongside the racing title next month, and will also offer a Limited Edition version of the game featuring a GT-branded DualShock 4 controller.

The Gran Turismo franchise is one of Sony’s biggest first-party properties, having sold over 75 million copies worldwide since its inception in 1997 for the original PlayStation.
