Brand new environments, new teams, new game modes, a revamped user interface and a complete track overhaul are among the new features in this year’s iteration of the Superbike World Championship series.
As the official game of the series, all of the teams, riders and tracks are authentic and the gameplay has received a significant makeover, which includes fine-tuning of the bikes, visible damage on fairings and leathers, and deep customization options.
Publisher Black Bean Games has said that SBK 09 will appeal to those seeking an arcade racing experience as well as a deeper simulation.
"With SBK 09 Superbike World Championship, we try to reach both new motorbike enthusiasts as well as hardcore riders offering them a real championship whenever they fancy jumping on a virtual bike, improving their performance and competing against turns and time,” said Fabrizio Vagliasindi, Black Bean Games Head of Marketing.
Five gameplay modes have been confirmed including: Quick race, Training, Race Weekend, Championship and Challenges; as well as online multiplayer.
SBK 09 will be released on Xbox 360, PlayStation 2, PlayStation 3, PSP and PC at the end of May.
