The Dark Pictures Anthology developer SuperMassive Games has announced that it is entering a reorganisation period in which it anticipates a number of layoffs.
The news comes not long after Bloomberg reporter Jason Schreier claimed that SuperMassive Games would be laying off around 90 staff members, as job losses continue to batter the games industry.
It’s no secret that the games industry is currently facing significant challenges and unfortunately we aren’t immune to this. After much deliberation and with deep regret, we are therefore undertaking a reorganisation of Supermassive Games. As a result, we are entering into a period of consultation, which we anticipate will result in the loss of some of our colleagues. This is not a decision that’s been taken lightly with many efforts made to avoid this outcome.

SuperMassive Games announced earlier this month that its co-founders had left the studio, and just the day before it was confirmed that an Until Dawn remaster is coming to PS5 later this year. However, it appears the studio is not involved in the project, as it hasn’t commented on it at the time of writing.
