505 Games and developer Kung Fu Factory are hoping to take advantage of the lack of fighting games this Fall by releasing their brand new MMA title, Supremacy MMA, on September 20, 2011.
Releasing on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, Supremacy MMA is billed as an arcade fighter that blends accessible action with more complicated MMA fighting styles. In line with the release date announcement, 505 Games has also confirmed a pre-order incentive for those who buy the brawler from GameStop in advance.
The roster already includes some hard-hitters, including kickboxing legend Jerome Le Banner and current UFC champion Jens Pulver, but those who pre-order will gain access to an additional fighter, Shane Del Rosario, who became the first American to lift the WBC Heavyweight title – he’s also never lost a fight and weighs a massive 240 pounds.
After some hands-on time with the game recently, the Official PlayStation Magazine said that Supremacy MMA is much more brutal that Electronic Art’s UFC franchise. “Finally a game for those who think that UFC is just a bit too namby pamby and soft,” it wrote. Sounds like a game for real men. Who’s up for a bit of slap and tickle then?
