Taco Bell Vita contest winners deceived

Many people have won in the widely publicized Taco Bell campaign to give away Sony’s new PlayStation Vita, a game, and a memory card. At least, that’s what they believed.

People like our own community member SPOTTED have been duped. It turns out they were scammed into thinking they won, which some believe is a result of a hacker. The day which had the most invalid winners was Jan. 30, and after entering their winning codes, users received an email claiming that they weren’t winners. Even after contacting customer support, a fair amount were still told that they weren’t winners. Many in this predicament have contacted the Better Business Bureau in regards to this issue, but haven’t been given any conclusive information on the matter or how it will be resolved. Many of these people have created and joined a group on Facebook, and they want to make sure that this issue doesn’t happen to you.

What do you think should be done for those who have been deceived by this giveaway issue? If anyone in our community IS in this predicament, or if anyone knows someone who is, definitely respond with your story and if Taco Bell has done anything to assist you.
