Tekken 5: DR heading online in the U.S.

Last week PSU reported that Tekken 5: Dark Resurrection would be heading online in Japan. Today, Namco Bandai confirmed this expansion would be heading to the US and dealt out various other juicy details.

This is the first time any Tekken will be playable online in any way, shape or form claims Namco Bandai (as if we didn’t already know that). The new modes being added to the game include Opti Match, Quick Match, Custom Match and Friend Match. Between fights you can view the current bout and study up on the opponents techniques that you may very well have to deal with in the opposing round. Also, fear not, as voice chat will be fully supported, so no cell phone calls between rounds are necessary.

Not all content added will be online content though. A desperately needed Practice Mode and a Survival Mode will be squirming their way into this otherwise online-oriented update.

Unfortunately, everything good has a cost. In this case, Tekken 5: Dark Resurrection Online will cost you $9.99 later this year.
