Bandai Namco’s Tekken 7 has now sold over 6 million units, taking the famed fighting series’ lifetime sales to an eye-watering 50 million copies, dwarfing that of even Capcom’s Street Fighter.
Confirmed on Twitter by the game’s Director, Katsuhiro Harada, the news solidifies Tekken as the best-selling traditional home-console fighting series, and shows a return to form following relatively disappointing sales of the series’ last numbered iteration.

Tekken 7’s popularity in the fighting game competition circuit and its Season Pass offerings will ensure continued sales into the future. To that end, we reported yesterday that popular character Kunimitsu would be returning as part of Season Pass 4 which is due to be official revealed shortly.
