Tekken director comments on possible Xenosaga HD Remaster

Tekken head honcho Katsuhiro Harada has sent out an extended, sincere message to fans of the role-playing videogame series Xenosaga about the possibility of a HD Collection in the future.

Speaking on Twitlonger, Harada-san addressed the feasibility of remastering the much-loved series to current-generation consoles by saying, ‘’A while back, triggered by the overseas version of Project X Zone, I have conducted a research and calculated if there is a business chance for Xenosaga HD Remaster.’’

He continued: ‘’Measures such as Kickstarters are as of last resort, and at any rate we will not have a chance of winning as it stands now. It will not gather people by crowdfunding without creating some kind of big movement to support it.’’

The series, which saw three releases on Sony’s PS2, has remained a stern fan favourite amongst gamers, and has also seen separate spin-off releases since the closing of the main trilogy in 2006.

Harada-san surmised the message with a heartfelt plea to fans of the series: What I need, are the voices from many fans. This is a little different from having “messages sent every day from the same person”. Although I do understand the deep love for the game, more than that, the cheers from as many “unique users” as possible is what is needed.’’

It looks as if its possiblity lies squarely at the feet of its potential user base, meaning that fans best get Tweeting and spreading the message if it’s every going to come to fruition. And we sorely hope it does.
