Tenacious D, the comedic rock band fronted by Jack Black, has dropped a new music video for their hilarious ditty ‘Video Games,’ in which Black sings about not playing video games anymore. Well, apart from a bit of God of War, Fallout 76, and Red Dead Redemption 2.
The animated video features a Black caricature dressing up as the likes of Sonic the Hedgehog, Lara Croft, Mega Man, Mario and more.
Black is obviously riding high right now thanks to his part in the Super Mario Bros. film as Bowser, where his song Peaches notched up a huge amount of interest.
Tenacious D was formed in Los Angeles by Jack Black and Kyle Gass, and released their debut album in 2001. The band even ended up supporting the likes of Pearl Jam, Tool and Weezer by the late 1990s, and also got chummy with Dave Grohl, the former drummer of Nirvana. The group won a Grammy for ‘Best Heavy Metal Performance’ for their cover of Dio’s The Last in Line in 2014.
