Alex Garland is set to direct the movie adaptation of Elden Ring, A24 and Bandai Namco Entertainment have announced.
The Elden Ring movie is set to be produced by Peter Rice alongside DNA’s Andrew Macdonald and Allon Reich, George R.R. Martin and Vince Gerardis also involved. Meanwhile, in addition to directing the film, Garland will also serve as a writer on the project.

A movie adaptation of Elden Ring was originally teased by George R.R. Martin last year, when he made it clear that something was in the works while not actually saying anything official:
I did the worldbuilding for that project, Hidetaka Miyazaki and his team did all the rest. Oh, and about those rumors you may have heard about a feature film or television series based on Elden Ring… I have nothing to say. Not a word, nope, not a thing, I know nothing, you never heard a peep from me, mum mum mum. What rumor?
Elden Ring was released in February 2022 for PS5, PS4, PC, Xbox Series X/S, and Xbox One.
