Circana’s Mat Piscatella has revealed that The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered, which shadow-dropped for PS5, PC, and Xbox Series X/S on April 22, is already the third best-selling video game in the US for 2025 so far.
Only Monster Hunter Wilds and Assassin’s Creed Shadows have sold better than Oblivion so far, and in the week ending April 26 the game was the best-selling title overall. Bethesda announced on April 28 that The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered had reached four million players worldwide.

A few days after release, Bethesda opened up a new feedback section on its discord for The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion in order to garner feedback on possible changes for the newly-release remaster. That same week, Bruce Nesmith, the designer of the original Oblivion from 2006, said during an interview that the amount of work that had gone into the remaster was so vast that the game could be referred to as Oblivion 2.0.
The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered features brand new character models and enhanced textures, completely overhauling the original version in 4K resolution complete with new lighting effects, improved user interface, new dialogue, and more.
