Invites to Bethesda’s E3 2017 showcase event have begun to roll out, and attached to the email is a colorful picture which pays homage to past Bethesda games such as Elder Scrolls and Fallout.
However, there are two areas on the picture (shown above) in the top left and bottom right of the picture that are “under construction” suggesting that there’s two big surprises in store. It doesn’t take a genius to work out what they might be.
It was heavily-rumored that Bethesda would reveal The Evil Within 2 and a new Wolfenstein (a sequel to Wolfenstein: The New Order) at E3 2016. Neither surfaced, but with the success of both previous games in the series, it’s pretty much guaranteed that Bethesda does have plans for sequels.
We’d tentatively suggest that both games were too early in development to showcase at E3 2016, but one year later perhaps they’ll be revealed Bethesda’s two secret games at E3 2017.
A new Wolfenstein game rumor, surfaced back in October last year when Brain Bloom, who played the voice of B.J. Blazkowicz in The New Order, suggested that he was currently working on the next game, which has been dubbed Wolfenstein: The New Colossus.
A Bethesda job listing earlier this month also suggested that The Evil Within 2 is in development. The first horror game in the series proved to be popular among fans of the survival horror genre, so if this one makes an appearance we can expect the roof to be blown off at the Bethesda press conference this June.
