Geoff Keighley has announced that The Game Awards 2026 is taking place at the Peacock Theatre in Los Angeles on December 10.
More details about this year’s event will be shared this fall, although for now that’s all we have to go on. Typically Keighley confirms a couple of games that will be locked for The Game Awards in the months prior to the show, but there’s still going to be a lot of content kept under wraps.
The Game Awards are held every December and while they obviously celebrate the best titles of the year with multiple award categories, Keighley’s annual game bash also hosts a number of world premieres for upcoming titles, as well as updates on previously announced games.
Last year for example we saw the announcement of Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis, Tomb Raider: Catalyst, Divinity, Star Wars: Fate of the Old Republic, and of course the ill-fated Highguard.
