The Hottest PlayStation Games and Expected Releases in the First Quarter of 2024

The first quarter of 2024 is shaping up to be an exciting time for PlayStation enthusiasts. From a library stocked with some of the most appealing video games on the planet to highly anticipated releases, you can’t help but feel giddy. And you should. Sony had a great 2023; from the look of things, the tech giant seems bent on outdoing itself.

The releases they launched the previous year included Final Fantasy 16 and Spider-Man 2, two of the hottest games that are being played now. We also witnessed the introduction of the PlayStation VR 2. This makes us curious about 2024 and what it holds for us. Fortunately, we don’t have to wonder for long because we’re about to pull the ribbon and find out what PlayStation 5 has wrapped for us. Before we do that, let’s begin with the games that are being played now.

What are the Trending PlayStation Games Right Now?

EA Sports FC 24

This is perhaps the best sports title on PS5 right now. What’s even more interesting is that you can bet on GGBet by selecting a fixture, and make real money in the process. Though it feels strange to see a headline soccer game not branded as FIFA, we can say that EA did one hell of a job and picked up from where the former left off. The ultra-realistic football game is so close to the real thing, from the players’ movements to the passing mechanics. To put the icing on the cake, it’s a great option for new and veteran gamers.

Mortal Kombat 11 Ultimate

Mortal Kombat has long been the dominant force in the fighting game genre, and its latest iteration only solidifies its position. With a couple of cinematic stories, an army of fighters to engage in duels, and a ton of new stages and fatalities to spice up the game, one can’t help but stay glued to hours of violent fun. When you add enhanced visuals and 4k dynamic resolution to the mix, you have a 10/10 game.

Other worthy mentions include Resident Evil Village, Gran Turismo 7, Astro’s Playroom, Returnal, etc.
