HBO’s The Last of Us has smashed a 50-year-old record for the company with its second episode, with viewers rising by 22% week-on-week.
This represents the largest two week growth in viewership for an HBO Original series in its 50 year history.
The Last of Us HBO premiered on January 15 and attracted 4.7 million viewers, becoming the second-biggest launch for a HBO show since Boardwalk Empire arrived in 2010 with seven million viewers. Unsurprisingly, the show was recently renewed for a second season.
