Neil Druckmann has revealed that the planned movie adaptation of Naughty Dog’s The Last of Us will feature some ‘big changes’ to the original source material.
Speaking with Game Informer, Druckmann, who served as game director on the post-apocalyptic adventure game and is penning the film’s script, reassured gamers the flick will still remain "pretty faithful" to the video game.
"I just finished a second draft, and we did a table read with a bunch of actors," he said. "Pretty faithful to the game. There are some big changes, but the tone and what the story’s trying to say is pretty faithful to the game.”
Druckmann added that he’s juggling time between Uncharted 4, at the office, and The Last of Us film “when I should be sleeping.”
Not much is known about the movie at present, though Game of Thrones actress, Maisie Williams, is hotly tipped to portray Ellie.
The Last of Us was released in 2013 for PlayStation 3, and received a remastered version for PlayStation 4 last summer.
