The Last Of Us Part I has not had the stellar launch on PC that players would’ve hoped for, as its been marred with the fact that currently, it can be a slog to play due to crashes and performance issues galore.
Naughty Dog for its part has admitted that it has heard players concerns over the myriad of issues that still persist, and has been releasing patches as quickly as it can to the detriment of other features such as Steam Deck support.
A new patch has now been released, with full patch notes also available for players to see exactly how many bug fixes are included, with even an issue addressing Steam Deck play included.
Patch 1.0.4 includes plenty of bug fixes, along with “framerate optimization, graphical and texture fidelity,” and fixes to help stop the game from crashing.
Another exciting inclusion is that this patch seems to also include broad CPU and GPU optimization, though more on that front will be added “in upcoming patches,” says Naughty Dog.
The team also added after the patch notes that it is “closely watching player reports to support future improvements and patches,” so if you see an issue, reporting it will hopefully help get it fixed faster.
