HBO’s The Last Of Us Season 2 Filming Kicks Off Jan. 7, Will Premiere In Early 2025

The Production List has confirmed that HBO’s The Last of Us Season 2 will start filming on January 7, 2024, in Vancouver. Production of the second season of the post-apocalyptic series was delayed due to the WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes.

HBO’s Casey Bloys previously said that production of The Last of Us HBO Season 2 would kick off in early 2024. The Last of Us Season 2 will premiere in early 2025, although a concrete release date has yet to be announced.

The Last of Us HBO originally aired in early 2023 and was a huge success for the network, attracting around 32 million viewers per episode. Showrunner Craig Mazin has said that the events of The Last of Us Part 2 will be told through more than one season, which ties in with his previous comments about wanting to produce more than two seasons of the series.

Meanwhile, developer Naughty Dog is heavily rumoured to be working on The Last of Us: Part 3, which will reportedly introduce five new characters and will feature the return of Ellie.
