The Last of Us Season 2′s trailer has become the most-watched trailer for any HBO and Max original after just three days, having amassed over 158 million views.
The latest trailer for the second season of the post-apocalyptic horror series represents a 160% improvement over previous related media for The Last of Us. As previously confirmed, season two will begin a retelling of The Last of Us: Part II, which will reunite Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsey as Joel and Ellie, respectively, while introducing Kaitlyn Dever as Abby.

The cast is also expanding with the addition of Isabela Merced (Dina), Young Mazino (Jesse), Ariela Barer (Mel), and Danny Ramirez (Manny). Dever was afforded additional security during filming her role due to the fan reaction to her character, although speaking in a recent interview, she expressed how she wants to do the character justice.
The Last of Us Season 2 is set to premiere on HBO on April 13, 2025.
Sony and Naughty Dog’s The Last of Us video game franchise launched in 2013 on PS3 with the original game, which was remastered the following year for PS4. 2020 saw the release of The Last of Us: Part II, and Naughty Dog would later completely overhaul the first game for PS5 in 2022 as The Last of Us: Part 1, with Part II also receiving the remastered treatment last year.
