Gary Dauberman, the writer-producer behind It and Annabelle, has acquired the screen rights to Bloober Team’s The Medium via his horror-focussed banner Coin Operated.
The Medium’s adaptation will be produced by Coin Operated President, Mia Maniscalco, and Dauberman, with a search for a writer and directed currently underway.
The Medium takes place in the 1990s during the post-communist era of Poland, and is set predominantly in an abandoned hotel in Krakow, telling the story of psychic Marianna, who is investigating the mystery death of a child. Speaking in a statement, Dauberman commented:

With its compelling story and incredibly cinematic visuals, The Medium is a natural for a feature film adaptation. When I talked to Piotr about it, we immediately connected on our mutual love of horror and his vision for where the genre is headed. I have no doubt anything Bloober develops is going to push horror forward in unique and terrifying ways, and I’m excited to be working alongside them.
