Apparently Deep Silver and Apogee Software aren’t aware there’s a global recession, but that’s good news for you. The companies recently announced they are expanding their search for the next live-action Duke Nukem actor from a three-city tour to a massive online audition. This is starting to feel like a TV reality show.
The lucky person who wins the contest will get to travel around the world as the new "official" Duke Nukem. Best of all, the gig pays!
All of this is in anticipation of the Duke Nukem Trilogy episodes: Critical Mass, Chain Reaction, and Proving Grounds, which will be released sequentially starting in fall 2009 for the PlayStation Portable and Nintendo DS.
If you want to take part in this competition, send in your best Duke Nukem demonstration. "We want to see your best Duke Nukem, so get ready to kick ass and chew some bubblegum because this is going to be one of the craziest promotions the videogame industry has seen for a long time," says Chad McNeil, marketing manager for Deep Silver.
If for some reason you can’t upload an audition video online, you can submit an entry by mail on a DVD, VHS, tape or video file on USB drive, or burned to a CD-R.
So what do you think? Do you have the ‘Duke’ in you?
