The Order: 1886 developer Ready at Dawn is set to announce its new project next week, GameStop boss Tony Bartel revealed during the company’s latest earnings call.
The retailer’s publishing arm, GameTrust, will be handling the new title, although right now there’s no hints as to what it could be. The news follows reports from November that the company had begun staffing up for a new title.
The Order: 1886 remains one of the most divisive PS4-exclusive releases to date. While hailed for its stunning visuals and moody atmosphere, many critics felt the over-reliance on Quick-Time Events and scripted sequences let the side down.
Indeed, PSU named it the PS4’s Resistance: Fall of Man Moment in our review back in early 2015.
Ready at Dawn hasn’t ruled out a sequel to the alternate-history shooter, although nothing official has ever been confirmed. Could this be the new game that the studio will announce next week? Who knows, but whatever it has in the pipeline, the studio admitted it has to ‘make a better game next time.’
