The PS4 Seagate Game Drive Adds 2TB Of Storage

Sony has just unveiled the officially licensed Seagate Game Drive for PS4 via the PlayStation Blog. This portable storage drive will add an additional 2 terabytes of Storage to your system. On top of that, due to its portability, you can take your games with you, and play them easily on other PlayStation 4s.

The PlayStation Blog also details a list of additional features that the drive offers:

  • Instantly adds 2TB for approximately 50 more games*
  • Full-speed gaming, just like playing from the PS4 system’s internal drive
  • Optimized to work with every model of PS4 (requires system software version 4.50 or greater)
  • Easy to bring to a friend’s place to play your games on another PS4 system (do note, once the content is stored on the drive, the content can only be accessed by the account that transferred the content)
  • Truly plug-and-play; doesn’t require additional cables
  • Doesn’t need to plug into the wall — USB powered

This is definitely a useful addition to your collection if you like to keep games installed on your system. The drive will be available online and in retailers for $89.99 USD/$119.99 CAD from next week on.

What are your thoughts on this drive? Will you be picking it up to expand your storage?

Didn’t see this coming. Pretty impressive in most aspects. Even the price tbh. I personally don’t need one now tho, but I’m definitely getting one for the next generation console if they’ll make one for that too.

    Is this honestly new?
Because I have had 2TB sea gate HDD for my ps4 since April 2018?

I think someone said its 10 bucks more than buying an unofficial one. But if its going to be visible and matching is important to you, why not.

I splurged on a SSD and grabbed an enclosure for the stick drive and have been happy with hat decision.
