NPD analyst Mat Piscatella has revealed on Twitter that the PS5 was the clear winner for hardware across the US in June 2023, beating the competition in both unit and dollar sales.
Not only was June another bumper month for Sony’s bulky console, but consumer spending on PlayStation hardware during this time was the highest June total for Sony since 2008. Meanwhile, unit sales were at their highest since June 2010.
Piscatella revealed that Sony’s flagship home console continues to lead 2023 hardware market for both units and dollars. Furthermore, the DualSense controller and its various colours ranked in the top four best-selling accessories, with DualSense Edge leading the pack.
The PS5 has sold 40 million units worldwide since its launch in winter 2020, having overcome major stock shortages brought on by the coronavirus pandemic.
