According to a report on Windows Central, Rare‘s Sea of Thieves has surpassed one million sales on PS5 following its launch at the end of April.
Microsoft hasn’t revealed any official sales figures for Sea of Thieves on Sony’s console, but we know that it has been performing strongly since launch. For example, Sony revealed that pirate adventurer was the most downloaded game on PS5 in the US and EU during May, and was still in the top ten as of last month.

Furthermore, Microsoft said back in June that it was ‘really pleased‘ with the reception to Sea of Thieves on PS5.
Sea of Thieves was among four games that Microsoft announced earlier this year would be coming to rival formats, alongside Hi-Fi Rush, Pentiment and Grounded. The Xbox One and PC version of Sea of Thieves launched in March 2018, and has seen robust post-launch content from Rare over the past six years.
Looking ahead, Microsoft is continuing to bring some of its biggest titles to PS5, with Indiana Jones and the Great Circle confirmed to hit Sony’s system in Spring 2025.
