The Vita was delayed in Japan to better supply launch

Senior Vice President at Sony, Hiroshi Kawano, revealed the reason for the delay that the PlayStation Vita saw in Japan in the upcoming issue of Japanese video game magazine Famitsu.

The PlayStation Vita was originally due to release in Japan on December 3, but Sony recently announced that the official launch of the Vita would be on December 17, 2011. However, as pointed out by Sony, the launch was pushed back in order to have more units available at retail on date of release.

We can’t blame Sony for this decision, however, thankfully, the delay was only by two weeks.
