UPDATE:
The game has been officially announced and we’ve included a trailer below.
ORIGINAL ARTICLE:
The Walking Dead: Destinies is reportedly a new entry in the popular series in development for PC and consoles, according to dataminer billbil-kun, and will be based on AMC’s TV series of the post-apocalyptic zombie series.
The leak claims that The Walking Dead: Destinies will feature 15 characters from the show and players will control Rick Grimes, the former sheriff’s deputy portrayed by Andrew Lincoln in the TV show. Based on the first four seasons, the game will allow players to deviate from the script and determine who can be saved or killed.
Characters beyond Rick include Carol, Daryl Dixon, Michonne, T-Dog, Shane and Glenn, and if it’s indeed based on the first four season, we can assume it will end roughly after the battle at the prison with the Governor, at which point the group hit the road to find a new safe haven. Presumably this also means that latter season characters such as Abraham, Eugene, Jesus, Negan, and Gabriel won’t be featured, but nothing is set in stone yet until we get an official reveal.
Given that it’s a Walking Dead game, players will be able to get their hands on weapons such as a revolver, shotgun, katana and more, while players will have to manage things such as resource harvesting and base management.
According to the leak, The Walking Dead: Destinies will be released for PS5, PS4, Nintendo Switch, PC, Xbox Series X/S, and Xbox One on November 14, 2023.
