CD Projekt Red News PS5 The Witcher IV The Witcher IV Release Window

The Witcher IV Is Not Going To Be Released Until After 2026, Says CDPR

Developer CD Projekt RED has revealed during its FY2024 earnings presentation that The Witcher IV is not going to see the light of day unit after 2026.

The studio reveals during the “consolidated net profit goals of the motivational program to align top managers goals with the CD Projekt group objectives.” It was during this segment that the studio added: “Even though we do not plan to release The Witcher 4 by the end of 2026, we are still driven by this financial goal.”

Piotr Nielubowicz, Chief Financial Officer of CDPR, was quizzed further about the game’s release date during the Q&A portion of the call.

We are not going to announce the precise launch date for the game yet. All we could share now to give more visibility to investors is that the game will not be launched within the time frame of the first target for the incentive program, which ends December 31, 2026.

The Witcher IV was officially revealed during The Game Awards 2024 in December with a cinematic debut trailer, which confirmed that Ciri is the lead character for the fantasy-RPG sequel – something which the studio said was the ‘super right choice.‘ The role has also been recast, with Ciara Berkeley now voicing the character.
