CD Projekt RED‘s Paweł Burza has discussed during the AnsweRED podcast now Ciri’s combat style will differ from that of Geralt in The Witcher IV.
Burza touched on a specific scene in The Witcher IV reveal trailer, where Ciri pins her adversary to the ground before pulling off a “really cool” somersault to dispatch them.
“You don’t see Geralt doing these things,” Burza said. “He’s nimble, but he feels like a block in some sense. She’s like liquid compared to him.” Meanwhile, Sebastian Kalemba, who serves as game director for the upcoming fantasy-RPG, added that Ciri “moves like she was raised by wolves in Kaer Morhen,” as seen “from personality, her posture and stuff.”

Tomek Suwalsk, director of The Witcher IV debut trailer, touched on his inspirations for the cinematography techniques applied in the trailer, citing the likes of The Witch and The Lighthouse as influence.
What I like about those films is that they allow for a slow burn, which is a very rare thing to have in short-form and in a trailer. I love slow burns. I love when the story has its own individual pacing. And I don’t believe that the audience has to be bombarded in the first five seconds, otherwise, they will just skip it… They are dark movies, they’re horror movies. And I was like, ‘Wow… I really resonate with those kinds of vibes.’ So I was super excited and happy that it’s dark.
While on the subject of Ciri, CDPR recently denied speculation that Ciri’s character model had been changed since the reveal trailer, while Doug Cockle, the voice actor behind Geralt, praised the developer’s choice to have Ciri as the main protagonist in The Witcher IV.
