Titanfall 2 coming to PS4, probably with free multiplayer maps, says Respawn

Titanfall 2 is definitely coming to PS4, as well as Xbox One and PC says Respawn CEO Vince Zampella.

Speaking to IGN, Zampella confirmed the recent rumours that the shooter franichse, which debuted on Xbox One, would be coming to Sony’s platform, stating that there’s still no official name for the sequel.

"I guess EA announced a sequel, so I could play coy and pretend I don’t know anything about it, or… yeah. So we’re working on a sequel,” said Zampella. “No official name yet, but we’re working on that. That’s the main focus but we’re starting up a second team and doing some smaller stuff too. Small, exploratory, taking it slow! It’ll be multiplatform."

He also spoke about DLC for Titanfall 2, suggesting that for the sequel they would rather give players free maps rather than make them pay for map packs.

"I think that’s a fantastic way to do it," he said. "I think having the maps like that in packs, it does split the community and it makes it harder for matchmaking, it’s messy. Yeah. I don’t know we won’t do it again, I can’t say that for sure, but the idea would be to do something different."

Industry analyst Michael Patchter believes that Microsoft will still secure an exclusivity deal and thinks that Titanfall 2 will launch sometime in 2017.
