Bethesda’s Todd Howard has refused to rule out an adaptation of The Elder Scroll, but has said that Fallout was perhaps best suited to getting its own TV show, noting the process of adapting Fallout was a lengthy one.
“I will say this, the Fallout journey was like a 10 year one. After Fallout 3, people were asking to do a movie or show for Fallout, and we really took our time,” Howard told Eurogamer. Despite this, he “can’t rule in or rule out an Elder Scrolls thing in the future,” but noted Fallout was “more uniquely suited” with “more to say in its genre.”
“But, you never know. I think the impact of the show on Fallout as a franchise has been bigger than I expected, so it does make you think like, ‘Hey, is there a path?’ But, nothing today… [and] I’m willing to say ‘no’ for a decade.”

Fallout Season 2 is set to premiere on December 17, 2025 and was renewed for a third season back in May. While on the subject of Fallout, it has been heavily rumoured that Bethesda is working on a remaster of Fallout 3, although nothing official has been confirmed yet.
As for The Elder Scrolls VI, Bethesda is still working on the next chapter in the fantasy-RPG series, but Howard admitted in a recent interview that the game is ‘still a long way off.’
